Claire Anne Lipinski, 76, of 153 Locust Avenue, Portsmouth, Rhode Island died at home on Monday, May 17, 2006. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Lipinski, who predeceased her on October 14, 2004. Longtime Portsmouth residents, they had been married for 41 years at the time of Mr. Lipinski?s death.Born in Brooklyn, New York on July 26, 1929, she was the daughter of the late George and Lillian Bowden Connors. Mrs. Lipinski was raised in Brooklyn and as a young woman she worked on Madison Avenue in New York City until she married her husband.As a Navy Wife, Mrs. Lipinski traveled the world with her husband and lived in several foreign countries including Ethiopia, London and Turkey. The Lipinski?s also traveled extensively throughout the United States during Mr. Lipinski?s naval career including being stationed in Key West, Florida for a period of time. Claire was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother, who greatly enjoyed her many hobbies including baking, sewing, needlepoint and other crafts. She was a communicant of St. Anthony?s Church in Portsmouth.She is survived by a daughter, Karen Kosoff and her husband Keith of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; two sons, Thomas Lipinski of Charlotte, North Carolina and Brian Lipinski of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; four grandchildren, Mikaela Kosoff and Jenna Kosoff of Portsmouth, Rhode Island; Logan Lipinski and Kyle Lipinski of Charlotte, North Carolina. A brother and sister also survive her; George Connors and Alice Flynn, both of Long Island, New York. She was also the sister of the late Florence Comerford. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2006, commencing at 9:00 a.m. from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth Rhode Island followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony?s Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Interment will follow in St. Columba Cemetery, Middletown, Rhode Island.
