Claire Marie Pretzel

Portsmouth, RI - Claire Marie Pretzel, 94, formerly of Portsmouth died Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Sakonnet Bay Manor, Tiverton, RI. She was the wife of the late Ernest Pretzel. Born in Fall River, MA on October 5, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Philias and Linda Shackett Dubuque.Mrs. Pretzel graduated in 1934 from Jersey City Medical Center. She was a registered nurse until her retirement in 1966. Mrs. Pretzel was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church. She along with her husband owned and operated the former Chanticleer Restaurant, now the Moulon Rouge in Tiverton for 10 years from 1960 to 1970. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Alice Burke, Anne Dowty and Marion Moss. Her funeral will be private.
