Newport, RI - Claire Mason Woods, 96, of 12 Ellery Road Newport, RI died Thursday, December 11, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Harold T. Woods, who passed away in May of 1947. Born in Wallingford, CT on April 23, 1907, she was the daughter of the late Harry W. aand Julia Downey Mason. Mrs. Woods trained as a nurse at the Newport Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1929. She worked at the Newport Hospital and in private duty. She also was a school nurse for the City of Newport, where she covered the private schools, including De La Salle and St. Catherine?s. Mrs. Woods retired 972. She is survived by two sons, Sean Woods of Jersey City, NJ, and Harold Woods of East Greenwich, RI, two daughters Sheila Woods of Newport, RI, and Claire Jackson of Millis, MA, eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren survive her.She was the sister of the late George Mason and Harry Mason.Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 15, 2003, with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM, in St. Mark Church, 60 Narragansett Avenue, Jamestown.
