Clara Slaiding

Newport, RI - Clara Terry Slaiding, 86, of Harrison Avenue, Newport, RI, formerly of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at Village House Nursing Home, Newport, RI. Born in California, on April 20, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clara Sousa Terry. Clara was an inspector for many years for Speidel in Providence. She was a communicant of St. Joseph?s Church. Clara was devoted to her family, she was a loving, and very patient person always putting others first. She is survived by her daughter Cheryl Slaiding of Middletown, RI, and her grandson Jacob Fougere of Newport, RI. She was the mother of the late John Slaiding and the sister of the late Joseph Terry, Edward Terry and Laura Cowelo. Her service will be private.
