Clarence M. Martin

Middletown, - Clarence M. ?Duke? Martin, 66, of 14 Marshall Lane Middletown, formerly of Newport, Rhode Island, died Sunday, April 20, 2003 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.He was the husband of Penny T. Ng Martin. Born in Guilford County, NC on April 23, 1936, he was the son of the late Lonnie and Lucille Doggett Martin.Mr. Martin served in the United States Navy during the Vietanm Era and the Korean War. He worked for 17 years as a financial advisor for Met Life Insurance Company retiring in 2001. Mr. Martin was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association of Newport and the Newport Lodge of Elks. He was a life member of the Newport VFW. Besides his wife he is survived by three sons Michael E. Martin of Newport, RI, Vincent E. Martin of Chicago, IL, and Steven E. Martin of Newport, RI, three daughters Rosalyn L. Martin of Savannah, GA, Belinda M. Mattson of Newport, RI, and Anita R. Davis of Newport, RI, and twelve grandchildren. His funeral will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2003, at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
