Clarice R. Stanton

Clarice R (Jones) Stanton, 57, of Middletown passed away Sunday February 7, 2016, with her family at her side at Newport Hospital.She was the wife of William R. Stanton.Born in Arlington, CA on January 29, 1959, she was the daughter of the late William Jones and Josephine (Rabb) Jones of Merced, CA.A graduate of Merced, CA High School class of 1976, Clarice was a loving and supportive mother, an active member in the church, as well as a regular volunteer with community programs such as Child and Family Services and local charities. Clarice was known for her loving smile, and approaching each day to bring happiness to those she came in contact with. Besides her husband of 40 years she is survived by her sons William, Michael, and Christopher; her sisters S. Joanne Samuels, Stella Jones, and Rebecca Peterson; and her brother Raymond Jones.In addition to her father, Clarice is predeceased by her siblings Michael and William Jones Cynthia Muhammad. Family and friends are invited to an hour of visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 with a funeral service immediately following on Saturday February 20, 2016 at Crosspoint Church, 14 Rhode Island Avenue, Newport, RI 02840.
