Clarissa Wheeler Smith

Middletown, RI - Clarissa W. Champlin Smith, 92, of 1634 West Main Road, Middletown, RI, died Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. She was the wife of the late Frederick Smith. Born in Providence, RI on February 25, 1914, she was the daughter of the late William and Clarissa Wheeler Champlin. Mrs. Smith was a 1931 graduate of Rogers High School and a communicant of St. Lucy?s Church. She is survived by her children, Gary P. Smith and Clarissa M. Smith both of Middletown, RI and Trish Dixon of Shelley, ID, nine grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She was the mother of the late Frederick W. Smith, Jr. and George Smith. Her funeral will be held on Monday, November 13, 2006, at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, November 12, 2006, from 3-6pm in the Memorial Funeral Home.
