Claudette A. Weissinger, passed away on February 26, 2024, at her residence in Tiverton, RI. Born on November 1, 1937, in Fall River, MA, Claudette was a woman of remarkable accomplishments who will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who knew her. She proudly blazed trails as one of the first women to graduate from Brown University and dedicated over two decades of her life as a Laboratory Technician at the Newport Naval Hospital.
Throughout her life, Claudette was deeply committed to serving her community. She lent her time and expertise as a trustee of the Portsmouth Public Library, enriching the lives of many through education and literacy. In the 1980s, she was an advocate for environmental conservation, playing a vital role in the movement to preserve the waters of Narragansett Bay through her involvement in Save the Bay.
Claudette's warm and generous spirit touched the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a lasting legacy of compassion, dedication, and unwavering kindness. She is survived by her loving sons, Cary and Clark (Renata) Weissinger, and her grandsons, John and Will.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John and her parents, Adrian and Connie Arsenault.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2024, from 3:00-6:00pm at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Rd., Portsmouth.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Barnabas Catholic Church, 1697 East Main Rd., Portsmouth, on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10:00 am, where friends and family will gather to honor her life.
Burial will immediately follow in Portsmouth Cemetery, Turnpike Ave., Portsmouth.
