Claudette B. Oliveira, 86, of Poplar Street, Newport, RI, passed away at home on Sunday, November 15, 2015.She was the wife of the late Edward T. Oliveira.Mrs. Oliveira was born on July 17, 1929 in Liege, Belgium. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Newport and was a member of its rosary society.She is survived by her children, Dennis Oliveira, Diana Flynn and Michele Botelho, all of Newport; her grandchildren, Nicholas Oliveira and Shari Correira; her great-grandchildren, Mia and Andrew Loyola; and several nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.Her funeral will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. from Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Broadway at Mann Avenue, Newport, RI.Burial will follow in Newport Memorial Park, Middletown, RI.Donations in her memory may be made to the Newport Rescue Wagon Fund, 21 West Marlborough Street, Newport, RI 02840 or to the Potter League for Animals, PO Box 412, Newport, RI 02840.
