Claudia Jane Lancaster

MIDDLETOWN, RI ? Claudia J. Palmer Lancaster, 70, of 236 Rogers Lane, Middletown, RI, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2005, at home. Born in Fall River, MA on January 17, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Ephram and Mary Case Palmer. Claudia, also known as ?Nana Lancaster? was a caregiver to children for over 24 years. She dedicated her life to spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She had a passion for knitting and was known throughout the community for her fisherman?s sweaters, ?Knitting Needles of Claudia.? She is survived by her children Allen Palmer of Bronson, FL, David Palmer of Warwick, RI, Robert Palmer of Tiverton, RI, Shawn Lancaster, Jody Lancaster and Mark Lancaster all of Portsmouth, RI, Michael Lancaster and Tracey Lancaster of Middletown, RI, her siblings William Palmer of Tiverton, RI, and Hope Palmer Durkee of Little Compton, RI, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Robert Palmer, Church Palmer, Leeson Palmer, Lydia Palmer, Barbara Palmer and Anna Palmer Quick.A graveside service will be held on Monday, August 15, 2005, at 10:00AM, in Pleasant View Cemetery, Old Stone Church Road, Tiverton.In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Claudia?s name to the Visiting Nurse Services of Newport and Bristol County, Hospice Care, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
