Clayton B. Heald

Newport, RI - Clayton B. Heald, 72, of 70 Carroll Avenue, Newport Green, Newport, died on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at home with his family at his side.He was the husband of Judy Lawrence Heald.Born in Newport, RI on July 16, 1938, he was the son of the late Emerson M. and Jennie P. Sisson Heald.Mr. Heald was a carpenter for 24 years for H. D. Finnegan and also worked at the Turnpike Bridge Authority as a toll collector for 10 years. He was an honorary life member of the Newport Lodge of Elks where he served as Tiler for 18 years and chaired many of the annual Special Education Christmas Parties. He also was an avid gardener. In addition to his wife of 33 years, he is survived by his children, Keven Heald of Kissimmee, FL, Lori Heald of St. Petersburg, FL, Judy Ouimette of Warren, RI, Elizabeth Heald of Warren, RI, and Jennifer Heald of Newport, RI; his brothers, Emerson Heald of Seattle, WA and George Heald of Silver City, NM; and seven grandchildren, Bethany, Brittni, Paige, Phil, Ashley, Jason and Ariana. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 7 pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.Calling hours will be held Tuesday, August 17, 2010 from 5-7 pm prior to the memorial service.
