WILLIAMSBURG, VA - Colleen P. Proctor Ventura, 82, of Williamsburg, VA, died Monday, September 27, 2010 at Patriots Colony, Williamsburg, VA.She was the wife of the late Charles Ventura with whom she was married for 59 years. Born in Norfolk, VA on May 15, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John and Julia Boyce Proctor. She had a 30 and year career in Federal Civil Service with the U.S. Navy starting in 1957 in the Security Dept. of the U.S. Naval Air Station, Norfolk, VA and ending in 1988 as a member of the Comptroller Supply Dept. of the Naval Education and Training Center in Newport, RI. Mrs. Ventura was a communicant of St. Anthonys Catholic Church in Portsmouth, RI, where she was a member of the Womens Guild and an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She was also a member of the Portsmouth Multi-Purpose Senior Center and the Green Thumb Garden Club. Mrs. Ventura was a resident of Portsmouth, RI for 47 years until 2007 when she moved to Williamsburg, VA to be closer to her daughter and son-in-law. She is survived by her daughter Charleen O. Perry and her husband Daniel W. Perry of Williamsburg, VA, her grandson Mark W. Perry and his wife Jennifer of Westfield, MA, her granddaughter Kristin O. Coia nad her husband Henry of Redondo Beach, CA and her great grandchildren, Taylor J. Perry , Austin W. Perry and Henry D. Coia. Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010, from 10-11AM, in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Her funeral will be held on Monday, October 4, 2010, at 11:00AM, from the funeral home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30AM, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
