Constantine Stamos Logothets

Newport, RI ? Constantine ?Gus? Stamos Logothets, 66, of 54 Berkeley Avenue, Newport, RI, unexpectedly passed away at home on Saturday, May 12, 2007. He was the husband of Myrsine Bouras Logothets native of Skiathos, Greece. Born in Newport, RI on August 29, 1940, to the late Stamos K. and Stamatia D. Logothets natives of Skiathos, Greece.Mr. Logothets was a life long member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, serving as Past Vice President and member of the church council. He was one of the original members of the Island of Skiathos Organization and had many active roles. Constantine had a lifelong love of the sea, lobstering with his father since the age of 6, till his passing. Retired from the Naval Undersea Warfare Center NUWC in June 2006. Constantine began his career at the Naval Underwater Systems Center NUSC in March of 1966, working as an Electronics Technician in Bldg. 110. Gus worked on many programs all along the eastern seaboard. Retiring as Test Equipment Technician of Bldg. 110. He received numerous awards and recognitions for his on the job excellence. Besides his wife of 44 years, he is survived by his daughters Stamatia ?Tammy? Logothets, Kathryn Logothets McKeon and her husband Brian T. McKeon, and Christina Constantine Logothets, his grandchildren, William Stamos McKeon, Constantine Kevin McKeon and Myrsine Patricia McKeon, his sister Mary Logothets Michael and her husband Arthur J. Michael of Newport, RI, his niece Kathryn Michael Williams and her husband John S. Williams of Upton, MA and his nephew John Arthur Michael of Newport, RI. His funeral will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 10:00 am from the Hambly Funeral Home, 30 Red Cross Avenue, Newport, with a funeral service at 11:00 pm in St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Church, 390 Thames Street, Newport. Burial will be in Island Annex Cemetery in Newport.Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, May 15, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9 in the Hambly Funeral Home.
