Middletown, RI - Cynthia M. Ley Macarchuk, 53, died Wednesday, May 16, 2007 of breast cancer at home with her family. Cindy was a devoted mother to daughters Jennifer Marie and Alexis Grace Macarchuk. She was a manager and representative for Perma-Bound Books, a committed member of the United Congregational Church and choir, an avid skier, biker, cook and brave veteran of several recurrences of cancer. Cindy was a participant of many clinical trials at Dana Farber Cancer Research Institute and was proud to contribute to the ongoing advancements in breast cancer treatment. Born in Detroit, Cindy spent most of her youth in Buffalo, NY. She was the daughter of the late Edward and Claudia Ley. She was a graduate of Boston University.Cindy will be remembered for her zest for life, her optimism in bleak circumstances, her joy and finesse on a double diamond run, and her delight in making a pancake feast for a gang of kids in her kitchen on a Saturday morning.She will be missed by her brother Robert A. Ley of Buffalo, many nephews, and many good friends.A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2007, at 11:00A.M., at the United Congregational Church, 524 Valley Road, Middletown.
