Daniel Martin

Kingston, RI - Daniel Martin, 66, of 53 Rolens Drive, Kingston, RI, formerly of Portsmouth, died Monday, January 1, 2007 at South County Hospital, Wakefield, RI. Born in Fall River, MA on January 21, 1940, he was the son of Daniel T. Martin of Middletown, RI, and the late Alice Garcia Martin. Mr. Martin served in the United States Marine Corp from 1957 to 1961 and then in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He was an electronics technician for Raytheon for 7 years and a logistics management specialist for the Federal Civil Service in Ft. Monmouth, NJ, retiring in 1998. Mr. Martin received his B.A. in sociology in 1981 from Rhode Island College. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, the Gun Owners of America and the American Radio Relay League. Daniel loved SCUBA diving, and sailing, he was an amateur radio operator and firearms marksman. Mr. Martin was also a member of the Curtis Corner Baptist Church in Wakefield, RI. His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2007, at 11:00am in the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Friday, January 5, 2007, from 6-8pm, in the Connors Funeral Home.
