- Darran John Sylvia, 40, of 52 Dearborn Street Newport, Saturday, May 11, 2002 at Charlton Memorial Hospital Fall River, MA.. Born in Newport, RI on January 31, 1962, he was the son of Francis J. and Edna M. Williams Sylvia.Mr. Sylvia was an auto mechanic for Inskip Motors in Providence. Besides his parents he leaves two daughters Nicole Elizabeth Sylvia and Sarah Jessica Sylvia both of East Providence, RI, three brothers Francis T. Sylvia, Dean J. Sylvia, and Michael S. Sylvia all of Middletown, RI, his sister Cindy A. Sylvia of Middletown, RI, and his niece Kara Rose Sylvia of Middletown, RI. His funeral will be held Thursday, May 16, 2002 at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home 375 Broadway Newport with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00am in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society RI Division 400 Main Street Pawtucket, RI 02860.
