David Allen Harlow, "Happy", 65, died unexpectedly at his home in Little Compton, RI, on March 5, 2016. David was born April 13, 1950, in Newport, RI, the son of the late Allen S. and Dorothy B. Harlow.David is survived by his wife Stephanie Maynard Harlow with whom he would have celebrated 25 years of marriage this June, and his beautiful daughters Kelly and Katelin, whom he adored, his sister Jane Harlow Dwyer and brother Richard J. Harlow, several sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins with whom he grew up with on Sunnyfield Farm (Aquidneck Island Creamery) in Middletown, RI.David graduated from Middletown High School, the class of 1968. He was a talented athlete and played baseball, basketball and was the captain of the football team. He attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated from Roger Williams College. He worked for Bridges, Inc. and was a former employee at the Newport County Mental Health Center and Communities for People. David dedicated his life to helping others.David will be remembered for his abundant kindness, his gentle ways, his humor, and as a hard-working man. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid sports fan. He played softball for Aquidneck Realty and rugby with the Newport Rugby Club. He loved brownies, reading, music, and all animals.But most of all David loved his daughters.Calling hours will be Sunday March 13, 2016 from 4-7 at Connors Funeral Home 55 West Main Rd., Portsmouth, RI.
