David M. Lemieux

David M. Lemieux, 58, of East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, October 18, 2012 at RI Hospital in Providence.Born in Newport, RI on November 12, 1953, he was the son of the late Paul A.J. Lemieux and Mary Lou (Camara) Lemieux.David was a talented blacksmith and worked for many years for the former Thomas Crawford Welding in Newport where he created custom iron work. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed playing the guitar and drums. He was a member of the Portuguese American Citizen's Club in Portsmouth and the Sakonnet Sportman's Club. David had a strong belief in his Catholic faith.He is survived by four daughters, Danielle Hathaway of Yelm, WA, Jeannine Lemieux, Jessica Lemieux and Jamie Lemieux, all of Newport, RI; two brothers, Paul J. Lemieux of Pittsfield, CA and Roger D. Lemieux of Berkley, MA; a sister, Lauren Vanicek of Portsmouth, RI; and eleven grandchildren. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 from 9-11 am in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871. His funeral service will follow at 11 am in the funeral home. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
