David Michael Sagamang, 56, of North Kingstown passed away Sunday, December 27, 2015. Born on January 12, 1959 in Norfolk, VA, he was the son of Doris E. (Messier) Sagamang of Tiverton, RI and the late David E. Sagamang. David attended Middletown High School and graduated from Saginaw Valley University in Michigan with a Bachelor's degree in 1985. He retired from the Air Force after 18 years of service as an inflight refueling technician and training development specialist. Most recently he was a manager with AutoZone. Dave had many interests including woodworking, sailing, and camping. He was past President of both the VFW in Wichita, KS and the Newport County Radio Club. He was a volunteer paramedic, past knight in the Knights of Columbus, an NRA lifetime member, an ARRL lifetime member, and a past member of the Wichita Amateur Radio Club.Besides his wife Linda (Loughlin) of 29 years, he is survived by his sons, David and his wife Robin of Andover, KS, Jason and his wife Kathryn of Wakefield, RI, Kevin and his finance Tia Nickelson of Andover, KS, and Geoffrey and his wife Maris of West Warwick, RI; his brothers Dennis of Middletown, RI, Dale and his wife Christine of Winthrop, MA, and his sister Donna Schnare and her husband Donald of Virginia Beach, VA; four grandchildren and eight nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held Thursday, December 31, 2015 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 8:30 from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Barnabas Church, 1697 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.
