David Paul Jackson

David Jackson, 54, of Newport died peacefully on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Newport Hospital.Born on August 28, 1960 in Newport, RI, he was the son of the late Paul Jackson and Lillian Marie (DeCoster) Jackson. David was a firefighter for the Newport Fire Department, from August 1997 until his retirement in May 2013. He was an avid photographer, where he loved to shoot during various sporting events such as golfing and rugby games. He also had an eye for historical architectural scenes. Recently he began shooting the Newport Fire Department in action at various locations. David also enjoyed boating on Narragansett Bay and was a huge fan of the Red Sox's, the Bruins and the Washington Redskins.He is survived by his longtime companion, Ra Nae Souza of Middletown, his sister Pamela Jackson-Combellack and her husband Richard of Newport, RI and his cousin Stephanie Snyder of Portsmouth.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, at 10:30a.m., in the Memorial Funeral Home.Burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery, East Main Road, Portsmouth.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Newport Rescue Wagon Fund, 21 W.
