Dean Harding Spaulding

Newport, RI - Dean Harding Spaulding, 82, of Heatherwood Health Care Center, Newport, RI, formerly of 245 Broadway Apt#2, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the husband of the late Christina Woodard Spaulding. Born in Newport, VT, on February 21, 1924, he was the son of the late Benjamin S. and Alda Larabee Spaulding.Mr. Spaulding was in the United States Navy for 20 years. He later worked for the former DeBlois Gas Station as a manager in Middletown for 17 years. He was a member of the B.P.O.E. Lodge of Elks, the VFW Middletown Post 2284, he was also a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sons Charles Spaulding of Middletown, RI, Edward D. Spaulding of Newport, VT, Andrew T. Spaulding of Spotsylvania, VA, and Barry J. Spaulding of Portsmouth, RI, his daughter Sarah K. Free of Pensicola, FL, his sister Marilyn Forbes of Vermont, twelve grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Florin Spaulding, Harold Spaulding and Zilpha Robinson. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 28, 2006, at 10:00am, in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2007, from 7-9pm in the funeral home.Burial will be private.
