Newport, RI - Debora Lynn Greene, 61, of 1 Lowndes Street, Newport, RI, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at home. Born in Newport, RI on May 29, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Arthur A. Greene, Sr. and Lucille Tinsley Greene.Mrs. Greene was a member of the Salvation Army and the Channing Memorial Church. She was very involved in helping the homeless. She is survived by her daughter Dawn M. Greene of Newport, RI, two sons Damon M. Fowlkes of East Providence, RI and Douglas M. Fowlkes of Newport, RI, her brother Arthur A. Greene, Jr. of Providence, RI, four sisters Betty Lou Caldwell of Newport, RI, Jean Hollis of Groton, CT, Thelma Nancy Greene of Newport, RI and Dorothy Marie Greene of Charleston, SC and many grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Cecelia Greene and Bernice Greene Snow. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, December 6, 2008, at 11:00 am in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be private.Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 9-11am in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army, Memorial Boulevard, Newport, RI 02840.
