Deborah Ann Owens (Bryant) of Middletown, RI, died Saturday, May 30, 2020, at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River, MA. She was 66. Born October 13, 1953, in Atlantic City, NJ, where she lived until the family moved to Middletown in the early 1960s. Debbie was married to her high school sweetheart, the late Douglas M. Owens Sr., for almost 50 years. She was the firstborn daughter to Alice Bryant and the late William J. Bryant Sr. Debbie was a 1972 graduate of Middletown High School.
Debbie worked at Clements Market as a clerk and later in the floral department. This is where she discovered and perfected her talent for creating floral arrangements. Debbie was also the Town of Portsmouths first female police officer when she was sworn in on August 30, 1983. This was and always will be a proud moment for her and all of her family. In 1989, she moved to Conway, NH and became the owner of The Conway Valley Inn. They operated the busy motel for several years.
Debbie leaves behind her daughter Judith Ann Laramie and her husband Darrell; her son Douglas M. Owens Jr. and his wife Marika. Unfortunately, she was predeceased by her youngest son Michael D. Owens (2017). Debbie has 13 grandchildren, and they are (listed in order of her children) Joseph, Joshua, Rebecca, Jessica, Morgan, Haydyn, Brady, Chayley, Michael Jr., Kyle, Johnathan, Bradyn, and the beautiful late Danielle. She is also survived by her siblings, William J. Bryant, Jr. and his wife Lisa of Fall River, Alice Aledia and her husband Lamberto of Orange Park, FL, and Michael Bryant and his wife Eleanoraof Tiverton, as well as 16 nieces and nephews.
Debbie enjoyed many happy moments camping with her family and the many trips to Disney World. She found joy in creating floral arrangements that brought smiles to others. Over the years shes had a special fondness for her many dogs, especially BamBam and Pebbles, that she leaves behind.
