Debra M. Shepherd

Debra M. Shepherd, 65, of Hamden, CT, formerly of Portsmouth, RI, passed away on February 29, 2024. She was the wife of the late Wallace B. Shepherd, Jr.

Born in Winthrop, MA, she was the daughter of Chester D. Capodilupo Sr. and the late Mary Rose (DiNicola) Capodilupo.

Debra graduated from Rogers High School and then went on to receive her Bachelor's Degree from Salve Regina University. She was a special education teacher for the Melville Elementary School in Portsmouth and other elementary schools on Aquidneck Island.

Debra was a member of St. Lucy's Church in Middletown. Her and her late husband Wallace volunteered with the children's program at St. Lucy's Church.

Debra is survived by her father, Chester D. Capodilupo, Sr., and her siblings, Paul Capodilupo and his fiancée Robin Fisher of Kitty Hawk, NC, Peter Capodilupo and his wife Jennifer of Bristol, and Chester D. Capodilupo, Jr., of Portsmouth. She additionally leaves her nieces and nephews, Hayley Capodilupo, Lindsay Capodilupo, Corin Capodilupo, Jesse Capodilupo, and Kim Capodilupo.

Services for Debra will be held on Monday, March 11, 2024, with visiting hours from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI. Funeral services will immediately follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow in St. Columba Catholic Cemetery, Brown's Lane, Middletown.
