Delores E. Earley

Delores E. Gomes Earley, 71, of 112 Evans Avenue Tiverton, died Monday, May 6, 2002 at St. Annes Hospital Fall River, MA. Born in Newport, RI on May 6, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Philip Debarros Gomes and Anna Lopes Gomes Lima.Mrs. Earley was a graduate of Rogers High School. She worked at the Heatherwood Health Care Center, as a certified nursing assistant from 1986 to 1996. She was a very loving and devoted sister, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons William K. Earley and Peter A. Earley both of Tiverton, RI, seven daughters AnnaMarie Johnson of Middletown, RI, Darlene P. Smitherman of Newport, RI, Janet L. Word of Charlotte, NC, Billie Renee Lewis of Newport, RI, Vicki I. Mack of Middletown, RI, Anita K. Powell of Tiverton, RI, and Delores E. Powell of Tiverton, RI, six brothers Phillip Gomes Jr. of Newport, RI, George Gomes of Oakland, CA, Donald Gomes Harrisberg, PA, Richard Gomes Providence, RI, John Lima Jr. Newport, RI, and Robert Lima Newport, RI, three sisters Joan Z. Saunders Baltimore, MD, Mary Threadgill of Richmond, VA, and Diane Thomas of Brandy Wine, MD, twenty four grandchildren and tweleve great grandchildren. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2002, at 8:00 AM from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00 AM in St. Josephs Church, Broadway And Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.
