Denise Renee Gaudet Matthews

Middletown, RI - Denise Renee Matthews, 48, of Middletown, died Tuesday, September 24, 2013 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI. Born in Newport, RI on July 1, 1965, she was the daughter of Carol (Byron) Gaudet of Middletown, and Richard Gaudet of Cape Cod, MA. Denise was a graduate of Rogers High School. She loved drawing, arts and crafts. Denise was a dedicated mother and grandmother and time spent with her grandchildren was time well spent. She also worked for a painting contractor and construction. Besides her mother, she is survived by her children, Donald Matthews, Seaman E-3, US Navy, Brianna Matthews and Brittany Matthews all of Newport, RI, her grandchildren, Kyla, Giovanni, and Amaya, her siblings, Michael Gaudet and Buddy Albert Gaudet of Middletown, RI, Richard Gaudet and Christopher Gaudet of Newport, RI, and Lisa Haskins of VA, her longtime companion Kevin Kilroy of Middletown, RI and her former husband Donald K. Matthews of Middletown, RI.At the request of Denise all services are private.
