Dennis James Coleman

Hawthorne, CA- Dennis James Coleman, 57, of Hawthorne Boulevard, Hawthorne, CA, formerly of 12 High Street, Middletown, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004 at home.He was the husband of Toshiko Izawa Coleman. Born in Merrick, NY on July 20, 1947, he was the son of the late James Vincent and Eleanor Francis Helfrich Coleman. Mr. Coleman had served as a merchant marine for the last 8 years. He was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corp. and the United States Navy. He was a member of the Seafarers Union of Wilminton, CA. He was a Graduate of Rogers High School, Class of 1965. Mr. Coleman had attended Roger Williams University, the University of Rhode Island, St. Gregorys College, Johnson and Whales University, and St. Leos College. He is survived by a daughter Kristen A. Coleman of Redondo Beach, CA, three brothers Bruce V. Coleman of Daytona Beach, FL, Gregory P. Coleman of Tiverton, RI, and Mark F. Coleman of Lakeland, FL, and two sisters Ellen M. Coleman-Luther of Middletown, RI, and Regina F. Coleman of Wilmington, NC.A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, October 8, 2004, at 9:00AM, in St. Lucys Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown. Burial will be in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. Memorial donations may be made to the Long Beach Veterans Administration Medical Center, Attn: Volentary Services in Memory of Dennis J. Coleman, 5901 East Seventh Street, Long Beach, CA 90822. Arrangements are by the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
