Deolinda G. Pavao

Deolinda G. Pavao, 90, of Portsmouth RI, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 27, 2015. She was the wife of the late Antone A. Pavao. Born in Fall River, MA on February 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Dos Anjos) Garcia. She retired from the Portsmouth School Department in 1986 after 22 years. She was a member of St. Anthony's Parish. She leaves seven children, John Pavao of Fairfield, Maine; Linda Pendleton and Pauline Terpening of Portsmouth, RI; Nancy Mello and Barbara Miranda of Tiverton, RI; Diane Roberts of Warwick, RI; and Elaine Cooper of Orange, Texas. She was the mother of the late Anthony Pavao and Kathleen (Pavao) Silvia. She also leaves 24 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Visiting Nurses of Newport Bristol Counties Hospice Care, 1184 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
