Derrick L. Farthing

Newport, RI - Derrick L. Farthing, 53, of Donovan Manor, Newport, RI, died Monday, July 16, 2007 at Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. Born in Hamilton, OH on May 6, 1954, he was the son of Garney Farthing of Hamilton, OH and the late Elizabeth Carroll Whalon.Mr. Farthing was an avid dart player and former member of the Newport Dart League. He was a regular at Billy Goods. Besides his father he is survived by his brothers Timothy Farthing of Portsmouth, RI and Garney Farthing of North Kingstown, RI, his sister Gail Hutchinson of Burrillville, RI and several nieces and nephews.He was the brother of the late Robert Farthing. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2007, from 4-7pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
