Providence, RI - Dervel Javier Jimenez-Caceres, 20, took his last breath in his mother's arms at RI Hospital on September 1, 2014. Born on August 22, 1994 in Cacuguas, Puerto Rico, he was the son of Tania Jimenez.Caring-Giving-Thoughtful-PassionateIn his 20 years of life he lived a life of persistent searching for loving balance in life as witnessed by his Christian faith. His most treasured possession was his family who he wanted to be happy and striving. Dervel dedicated his time to making the people around him happy with his humor, attentive caring gaze and beautiful smile. He wanted to be helpful and looked for opportunities to do so.His mother Tania, and siblings Alfonso, Hector, Obed, Kevin, Anamary and Dexter wish to have Dervel's legacy live on, giving to others would be a thoughtful remembrance of Dervel's life.Calling hours will be held on Monday September 8, 2014, from 4-6pm followed by a prayer service at Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.Donations in his memory may be made to YESS Program of Providence, Samaritans of RI or simply kindness to others in Dervel's name.
