Dianne Frances Walsh

Dianne Frances Lillie Walsh, 60, of 1 Fox Glove Lane Savannah, Georgia and 84 Belmont Drive, Portsmouth Rhode Island where they summered, died Wednesday, June 26, 2002 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of George M. Walsh. Born in New Bedford, MA on December 19, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Bingham and Frances Anne Palmer Lillie. Mrs. Walsh, ?Dee?, was raised in Scarsdale, New York and moved to Rhode Island with her husband in 1964. They then moved to Savannah, GA in 1996 and maintained a Summer home in Portsmouth. Mrs. Walsh received a degree in Elementary Education at Syracuse University in New York and taught in the Middletown school system before assuming the position of Director of the Portsmouth Nursery School, at the Portsmouth United Methodist Church which she held for several years. She helped in the establishment and growth of the Portsmouth Action for Youth and the Stop Over Shelter activities in Portsmouth.Mrs. Walsh had also been active in the Raytheon Wives Association, and the Portsmouth United Methodist Church. Beside her husband she is survived by her son Andrew G. Walsh of Honolulu, HI, her daughter Stephanie-Anne Osborn of Germantown, MD, her sister Deborah Blumenfeld of CT, and her two granddaughters Brittany and Alexis Osborn.A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2002, at 11:00AM, at the Portsmouth United Methodist Church, 2732 East Main Road, Portsmouth.
