Diotina M. Carreiro

Middletown, RI - Diotina M. Andrade Carreiro, 85, of John Clarke Retirement Center Middletown, formerly of 47 Roma Street, Bristol, RI, died Friday, February 4, 2005 at Newport Hospital Newport, RI.She was the wife of the late Antonio P. Carreiro. Born in New Bedford, MA on September 2, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Jose Mitias and Maria dConceicoa Souza Andrade. Mrs. Carreiro lived in the Azores for 30 years before moving to Bristol, where she started work as an assembler at the Converse Shoe Factory until her retirement in 1980. She is survived by her brother Gervasio Andrade of Toronto, Canada, her sister Ermelinda Amaral of Middletown, RI, and many nieces and nephews.She was the sister of the late Alfred Andrade, Jose Andrade and Maria Braga. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005, at 7:30AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:00AM, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, 141 State Street, Bristol. Burial will be in St. Marys Cemetery, Chestnut Street, Bristol, RI.
