Dolores Bernstrom

Portsmouth, RI- Dolores Bernstrom, 77, of Bayview Avenue, died Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Forest Farm Health Care Center in Middletown, RI.She was the wife of 28 years to Harry B. Bernstrom.Born in Warren, RI on September 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Albert J. and Nellie (Avlia) Kaiser. Mrs. Bernstrom was a hostess for many years at the Town House Restaurant in Warren and also worked as a clerk at the Corner Sleep Shop in Fall River.An avid golfer, she was a member of Montaup Country Club, the Ocean State Women's Golf Association, the RI Women's Golf Association and a former member of Wanumetonomy Golf and Country Club and the RI Country Club. She was also a collector of antiques.In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Brooks and his wife Elizabeth Hawkins of Tiverton, RI; two grandchildren, Brook Lynn Hawkins and Gavin James Megley; and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Albert and Robert Kaiser and Dorothy Silva.Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at 11 am in Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, RI.Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 from 10:30-11 am in the funeral home prior to the funeral service.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
