He was the husband of Mildred LePore Guerrera. Born in Waterbury, CT on June 10, 1909, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Grace Ippolito Guerrera. Mr. Guerrera had been employed by NUSC Naval Underwater Systems Center retireing in 1972. He had also worked for Scovill Manufacturing as a Machinist and tool and Dye Maker for six years. Mr. Guerrera had worked for the United States Naval Torpedo Station from 1939-1945, he had worked for City Line Garage at Fort Adams until closing. Mr. Guerrera was a Scout Master with Park Holm Boy Scouts during the 1940?s. Mr. Guerrera was a 1926 Graduate of Crosby High School Waterbury, CT. He was an avid bowler and one of the Oldest Bowlers on Aquidneck Island at age 80 where he played for the Naval Undersea Warfare Center League. He is survived by his Wife of seventy years Mildred Guerrera of Middletown, RI, one Son Donald M. Guerrera of Tiverton, RI, one Daughter Shirley Walker of Portsmouth, RI, one Brother Walton Guerrera of Hamden, CT, one Sister Marguerite Dalosio of Waterbury, CT., six Grandchildren, Twelve Greatgrandchildren, one great great grandson. Mr.Guerrera was the Brother of the late Vincent Guerrera and Mildred Hayes. His funeral will be held Thursday, July 8, 2004 at 8:00 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 am in Saint Lucy?s Church, 909 West Main Road, Middletown, Burial will follow in Saint Columba Cemetery, Middletown.
