Middletown, RI - Domingo Santos, 74, of 630 Forest Park, Middletown, RI, formerly of 14 Massachusetts Avenue, Middletown, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. He was the husband of Hilda Marie Andrade Santos. Born in Portsmouth, RI on April 20, 1933, he was the son of the late Manuel and Louise Bennett Santos.Mr. Santos worked for 10 years for Ray Ferreira and he also worked for Thomas Eltrout at Trout Construction for 30 years. He loved woodworking. Besides his wife of 37, years, he is survived by his children Frank Souza, Jr. of Newport, RI, Barbara Johnson and her husband Rob of Middletown, RI, and Patricia Edwards of Newport, RI, his brothers Manuel Santos of Fall River, MA, Ralph Bennett of Portsmouth, RI, and William Bennett of Portsmouth, RI, his sisters Dora Marshall of Portsmouth, RI, Alice Haworth and Mary Daigneault both of Warwick, RI, and Barbara Hallgreen of Pawtucket, RI, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and his son in-law Scott Souza of Newport, RI. His funeral will be held on Monday, December 10, 2007, at 1:00pm, in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport. Burial will be in Newport Memorial Park in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2007, from 2-4 and 7-9, in the funeral home.
