Donald Eugene Francis

Newport, RI - Donald Eugene Francis, 83, of Newport, RI, passed away peacefully, Saturday morning, September 14, 2013 in Providence, after a long illness. He was born in Newport, RI on November 19, 1929.He was the loving son of the late Abbie (Bailey) Francis. He was a great Father and provider, and a wonderful Grandfather. He touched the lives of every person he met. He had a great artistic flare, and could see beauty and purpose in all things. He loved music, to laugh, to dance and to sing.He leaves behind his eldest daughter, Elizabeth Thomas of Maine, son-in-law Ray, and her 5 children, Matthew, Timothy, Mitchell, Jacob and Mary. He also leaves behind a daughter, Anne Roberts of Kentucky, son-in-law Doug, and their 2 children, Andrew and Amanda. He is survived by a wonderful brother, William Francis, of Middletown, RI, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was much loved and will be missed dearly by his family and friends.His final resting place will be in Maine.Please donate in his memory to the Alzheimers Association of RI, 245 Waterman Street, Suite 306, Providence, RI 02906
