Donald G. Mcmillan

Donald Gordon McMillan, age 73, of Middletown, died Friday, March 25, 2016 at Newport Hospital following a short illness. He was the husband of Jean (Maynard) McMillan.Mr. McMillan was born March 17, 1943 in Providence, RI, the son of the late George and Ann (Martin) McMillan. Donald attended De La Salle and Rogers High School. He worked for 50 years in the trades, working for many contractors. He finished his career working as building superintendent for 35 years at 50 Washington Square. He was also a member of the YMCA and a member of the Newport Preservation Society.Besides his wife of 50 years, he is survived by daughter Melissa Botelho and her husband Brian of Newport, RI, his sister Ann Young and her husband James of Florida and his brother John McMillan and his wife Julie of Michigan, his granddaughter Lucy Botelho of Newport, RI and several cousins, nieces and nephews.A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at 10:00 in St. Joseph's Church, Broadway, Newport, RI.Burial will be private.In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either St. Joseph's Church Soup Kitchen,5 Mann Avenue, Newport, RI 02840 or to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Center,Breakfast Program, 20 Dr. Marcus F.
