Donald John Belmore

Newport, RI - Donald John Belmore 74, of 2368 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI formerly of 290 Middle Road, Portsmouth, died Sunday, June 5, 2005, at Heatherwood Nursing Center, Newport. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Emily P. Martins Belmore. Born in Newport, RI on March 14, 1931, he was the son of the late Clifford J. and Helen Delekta Belmore Mr. Belmore served in the United States Army, during the Korean Conflict. He was a custodian at the Middletown School Department for fifteen years, retiring in 1981. Donald also worked for Manuel L. Leander as a paperhanger and painter for twenty five years, retiring in 1966. He was a member of the Middletown Lions Club and served as a past president of the Middletown Republican Party. Donald was an avid fisherman. Besides his wife Emily he leaves a son John L. Belmore and daughter in-law Susan C. of Portsmouth, RI, a daughter Kathleen M. Belmore of Bristol, RI, a grandson Christopher J. Belmore of Portsmouth, RI, and a granddaughter Brianna M. Belmore of Culver, PA. He was also brother of the late Clifford Belmore and Robert Belmore.
