Donald L. Nichols

Portsmouth, RI - Donald L. Nichols, 80, of 48 Arrowhead Lane, Portsmouth, RI, died Friday, May 26, 2006 at Grand Islander Health Care Center, Middletown, RI. He was the husband of Thalia Peterson Nichols. Born in Lewiston, ME on Dec. 8, 1925, he was the son of the late Mancell and Helen Kenney Nichols. Besides his wife he leaves five sons Alan Nichols of Santa Clarita, CA, Jonathan Nichols of Branford, CT, Christopher Nichols of Tuscon, AZ, Kendall Nichols of Reno, NV, Douglas Nichols of Tiverton, RI, two daughters Margaret Nichols of Yuma, AZ and Sara VanHof of Portsmouth, RI. Donald also leaves five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.Donald graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. He held positions at General Dynamics, Raytheon and NUSC. He retired from NUSC as Associate Technical Director in 1979 before finishing his career as a private consultant. Funeral services are private.
