Donald ?Spot? Lawerence Stevens Newport, RI - Donald ?Spot? Lawerence Stevens, 53, of 90 Girard Avenue, Newport, RI, formerly of Portsmouth, RI, died Monday, May 15, 2006, at the Newport Hospital, Newport, RI. He was the former husband of Robin Stevens. Born in Clinton, MA, on November 30, 1952, he was the son of the late Charles Henry and Margaret Rivers Stevens. He is survived by his son Donald Clayton Stevens of Boston, MA, three brothers Charles Stevens of Benson, AZ, David Stevens of Albuquerque, NM, and Danny Stevens of Newport, RI, and a sister Susan Maureen Taylor of Middletown, RI. Mr. Stevens had worked as a carpenter for the past nine years for various companies in Newport. He had been a volunteer for many years at the Middletown VFW and the Newport Lodge of Elks. Mr. Stevens was a member of The First Congregational Church in Sharon, MA. In honor of Donald, a gathering for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 28, 2006, from 5-8 p.m. at the Fleet Reserve, 122 Connell Highway, Newport.
