Donald P. Beebe

Donald P. Beebe, 60, of 186 Center Ave, Middletown, RI, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at Miriam Hospital, Providence, RI. He was the husband of Elizabeth Shea Beebe. Born in Newport, RI on September 14, 1950, he was the son of the late William O. and Rosanna Beebe. Donald grew up in the fifth ward, and was a 1969 graduate of Rogers High School. Beebs retired from the Newport Fire Department after a 26 year career, spending most of his career at Station 5. Many knew Don from his 30 years working part time at Fifth Ward Liquors. Don enjoyed traveling with his wife Betsy with family and friends, and recently spent time on his Harley Davidson. He was a member of Green Valley Country Club and a parishioner of St. Marys Church. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Elizabeth Betsy Beebe of Middletown, RI , and two daughters Nina Beebe of Montclair, VA, and Andrea Beebe of Middletown, RI, and six siblings, William O. Beebe Jr. and his late wife Amy of Brockton, MA, Inga Sheekey and her husband Jake of Hialeah, FL, Rosalie Connell and her husband Philip of Newport, RI, Robert Beebe and his wife Gerrie of Portsmouth, RI, James Beebe and his wife Kathleen of Middletown, RI, Richard Beebe and his wife Lynn of Darien, CT, and John Beebe of Middletown, RI. He also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews.Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 23 from 4:00-7:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.His funeral will be held on Thursday, February 24, at 8:00am from the Memorial Funeral Home, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 in St. Marys Church, Spring Street, Newport.
