Donna Compos

Donna L. Compos, 56, of Portsmouth, RI, died Sunday, September 29, 2013 at Newport Hospital.Born in Fall River, MA on June 26, 1957, she was the daughter of Helen (Sykes) Compos of Taunton, MA and the late Antone Compos.Donna grew up in Dighton, MA and entered the US Army after school. She began her nursing training in the Army and was discharged as a Specialist. She then began her 30 year career as a nurse at Newport Hospital where she was a devoted nurse caregiver.Donna also loved music and was a talented drummer playing in the rock band "Beyond Blonde" for many years, both touring and playing locally. The band once opened for Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. She is survived by her brother, David L. Compos and his wife Elizabeth of Mansfield, MA; her sisters, Dale L. Stetson of Berkley, MA, Deborah L. Flornoy of LeGavre, France and Dianne L. Compos of Norton, MA. She also leaves a nephew Camille Badin and her niece and goddaughter Emma Flornoy, both of Paris, France, and a niece, Meredith Stetson of Berkley, MA.
