Middletown, RI - Donna Lee Marley Scott, 66, of 8 J.H. Dwyer Drive, Middletown, RI, died Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Newport Hospital. She was the wife of Michael D. Scott, Sr. Born in Newport, RI on April 23, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Wealthy Rose Marley.Mrs. Scott was employed and cherished by her colleagues at the Naval War College. She had previously been employed by the Newport and Middletown School departments, which allowed her to be home to raise her family, always the most important thing in her life. She looked forward to her yearly camping trips with her family, she enjoyed the beach, cruises, reading novels and spending time with friends. Her thoughtful caring kind understanding and giving ways turned most friends into honorary members of her treasured family. In addition to her husband of 46 years, she is survived by her children, Claudina Dina Vargas and her husband Robert of North Kingstown, RI, Sara Gallagher and her husband Charles of Portsmouth, RI, Angela Rodriguez and her husband Ivan of East Greenwich, RI and Michael D. Scott, Jr. and his companion Fallon Sjostedt; her brothers, Frederick C. Marley, Jr. of Alfred, ME and Michael B. Marley of Orlando, FL; her sisters, Shirley L. Gallagher of Alfred, ME, Marion Corey of Middletown, RI, Linda Sherman of Middletown, RI and Joanne Boden of Winter Haven, FL; her grandchildren, Enrique Ricky Rodriguez, Brittany Scott-Williams, Samantha Alvera Rodriguez and Racquel Rodriguez and many nieces, nephews and extended family members.She was the sister of the late Richard Marley, James E. Marley, Franklin Marley and Carolyn Gray. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 18, 2008, at 9 am from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am in St. Josephs Church, Broadway and Mann Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, September 17, 2008 from 4-8 pm in the funeral home.
