Portsmouth, - Donna Louise Colt Romanelli, 74, of 33 Lowell Drive Portsmouth, died Wednesday, November 27, 2002 at Miriam Hospital Providence, RI.She was the wife of John N. Romanelli Sr., Lcdr. USN, Ret. Born in Avalon, PA on October 9, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Walter Scott and Louise Haun Colt.Mrs. Romanelli graduated on May 28, 1989 from the University of Rhode Island with Bachelor of Fine Arts with Distinction. She was a member of the National Soriorty of Phi Kappa Phi. Mrs. Romanelli was a founder of the American Womens Club in Ledyard CT. She was a member of St. Marys Episcopal Church in Portsmouth where she was active in all the church activites over the years. She was formerly active in the Girls and Boys scouts of America as an adult leader. Mrs. Romanelli won 3 Jefferson Awards from the Valley Forge Freedom Foundation. She was an accomplished water color artist having won 1st place at the Newport Art Show in 1988. Mrs. Romanelli designed the squardron Plaque for Submarine Squardron 12, USS Marlin SST 2 and the Submarine Atlantic Fleet Plaque in 1950. Besides her husband she is survived by three sons Robert S. Romanelli of Newport, RI, John N. Romanelli II of Portsmouth, RI, and Christopher C. Romanelli of Cranston, RI, her daughter Lovonda L. Romanelli of Portsmouth, RI, two brothers John Colt and Michael Colt both of Atlanta, GA, and seven grandchildren.She was the sister of the late Walter Colt and Robert Colt.Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2002, at 11:00am, in St. Marys Episcopal Church, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth. Burial will be in St. Marys Churchyard in Portsmouth. Donations in her memory may be made to the St. Marys Episcopal Church Building Fund, 324 East Main Road, Portsmouth, RI 02871.
