Dora C. (Pirie) Aleicho, 78, of Brooks Avenue, Newport, RI died on Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Warren Skilled Nursing Center in Warren, RI.She was the wife of the late Jose R. Aleicho.Born in Glascow, Scotland on January 7, 1937, she was the daughter of the late George A. and Cesira "Jessie" (Colognori) Pirie. Mrs. Aleicho was a member of the British Air Force when she met and married her husband who was in the US Air Force. They were married almost 50 years. Mrs. Aleicho became an American Citizen in 1962. With her great sense of humor, she loved joking and laughing with her family and friends knitting and playing Bingo.She is survived by her children, Anthony Aleicho of Middletown, RI, Andrew Aleicho of Portsmouth, RI, Alan Aleicho of Newport, RI, Adam Aleicho of Portsmouth, RI and Angela Hurney of Tiverton, RI; and nine grandchildren, Tiffany and Matthew Blythe, Patrick and Stephanie Hurney, Erin, Andrew and Lauren Aleicho, and Alexandra and Addison-Anne Aleicho.She was the mother of the late Ann-Marie Blythe and the sister of the late Andrew Pirie, Victor Pirie, Margaret Jones and Jack Pirie.Calling hours will be held on Monday, January 12, 2015 from 4-7pm in Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
