Portsmouth, RI - Doris Blanche Dyer Vivieros, 88, of 193 Forest Avenue, Middletown, and formerly of 271 Sprague Street, Portsmouth, RI, died Thursday, July 2, 2009. She was the wife of the late Gabriel John Vivieros. Born in Fall River, MA, on June 13, 1921, she was the daughter of the late John H. and Delia Janson Dyer.Mrs. Vivieros was a graduate of BMC Durfee High School in Fall River, MA. She worked at the Navy Exchange as a store supervisor for 15 years, retiring in 1983. She also worked at the Uniform Shop on the Naval Base and was also a wedding cake decorator. Mrs. Vivieros was a communicant of St. Anthonys Church. She was a member of the Forever Young Club where she also served as an officer. Mrs. Vivieros enjoyed doing arts and crafts, sewing and traveling. She is survived by her sons Robert G. Vivieros of Portsmouth, and Thomas J. Vivieros of Middletown, RI, her sister Dorothy Collier of McAllen, TX, three grandchildren, two step-grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.She was the sister of the late John Dyer, Elsie Leary, Irene Whalen, Margaret Marsh and Leah Roberts Girard. Her funeral will be held on Monday, July 6, 2009, at 9:00AM, from the Connors Funeral Home, 55 West Main Road, Portsmouth, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM, in St. Anthonys Church, 2836 East Main Road, Portsmouth.Burial will be in St. Columba Cemetery in Middletown.Calling hours will be held on Sunday, July5, 2009, from 4-7PM in the funeral home.
