Doris Marie (Seyler) Schuster, 75, of Middletown formerly of Newport died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Newport Hospital of Newport, RI. Born on August 19, 1937 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of the late Millard and Martha (Riley) Seyler. Doris was proud to the have been employed by Gov. Sundlun, working as private aid to his wife Marjorie. She later worked in a similar capacity for Senator Pell. She also worked as an aide at the Grand Islander Nursing Home. Doris enjoyed spending time in her garden, feeding the birds and squirrels, her parrot Spike, and joining her friends at bingo. Most of all, she wanted to spend time with her family.She is survived by her children, David Clark of Middletown, Victoria (Clark) Zell-Bongiovanni of Pensacola, FL, James Clark and his wife Tania of St. Petersburg, FL, Stefan Gerhart of Connecticut, Kathleen Nelson of Newport, Robert Schuster and his wife Darci of Middletown, and Charles Schuster and his wife Jennifer of Newport, and twenty three grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren, as well as her siblings, Sadie, Ruth, Shirley, Bill and Arthur.She was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Ann, her grandson Steven Byrd, and her siblings Cy, Gary and Janet Seyler.Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012, from 3:00-5:00pm in the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, RI.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to A Wish Come True Inc, 1010 Warwick Avenue Warwick, RI 02888.
