Doris Rebecca Cranson

Newport, - Doris Rebecca Cranson, 87, of 70 Harrison Avenue Newport, formerly of 12 Willow Street, Newport, died Tuesday, February 18, 2003 at Village House Newport, RI.. She was the wife of the late Carl Cranson. Born in Boston, MA on May. 23, 1915, she was the daughter of the late William and Tillie Bacheller Bacheller. Mrs. Cranson was a graduate of Rogers High School class of 1932. She worked for several years in the Newport Public Library and had worked at Bank of Newport. She was a member of St. Pauls Methodist Church, The Point Association of Newport, The Mosaic Club of Newport, Redwood Library, and Rogers High School Alumni Association. She also enjoyed opera, classical music and traveling. She is survived by her stepdaughter Susan Blanchard of Presque Isle, ME, her stepson James M. Cranson of Greenfield, MA, her grandson and her life long friend Catherine Kimball of Newport, RI. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2003, at 1:00pm in St. Paul United Methodist Church, 12 Marlborough Street, Newport. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery in Portsmouth.
