Dorothea A. Spencer

TIVERTON, RI - Dorothea A. Downey Spencer, 77, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of Newport, RI, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, at Charlton Memorial Hospital, Fall River, MA. She was the wife of the late Bernard T. Spencer. Born in Boston, MA, on May 26, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and M. Theresa McHale Downey. She is survived by two sons Brian and his wife Janice Spencer of Monroe, NY, and Barry and his wife Helen Spencer of Bristol, RI, three daughters Donna and her husband Charles Costa of Exeter, RI, Diane and her husband Michael Burns of Mesa, AZ, and Doreen and her husband Richard Trevallee of Perris, CA, her sister Patricia Newton of Ft. Pierce, FL, eight grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Joan Sexton. Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 12, 2005, at 8:00AM, from the Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00AM, in Jesus Saviour Church, Broadway and Vernon Avenue, Newport. Burial will be in St. Columbas Cemetery in Middletown. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2005 from 4-7PM in the Funeral Home.
