TIVERTON, RI - Dorothy Mae Daum Jones, 83, of Tiverton, RI, formerly of Ann Arbor, Michigan, died at St. Anne?s Hospital, Fall River, MA, on Sunday, May 29, 2005 after a short battle with cancer. She was married for fifty years to the late Rev. Gordon M. Jones Jr. Born in Philadelphia, PA on September 25, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Robert William and Anna Ingram Daum. Mrs. Jones graduated from Temple University in Philadelpha, PA. After her marriage in 1943, her husbands work took them to Toledo, OH and then to East Lansing, MI where they made their home for 10 years. They then moved to Ann Arbor, MI where Mr. Jones was the Rector of St Andrews Episcopal Church until he retired in 1981. Upon retirement they settled in Tiverton, RI. Mrs. Jones was a volunteer at Blenheim, Newport for many years, assisting at the Episcopal Church service for residents on Thursdays. While in Ann Arbor, she was active in the Well Baby Clinic at the University of Michigan Hospital and International Neighbors. She is survived by her children Gordon M. Jones III of Lexington, MA, Stephen R. Jones of Ann Arbor, MI, Nancy Jones Whitney of Wellesley, MA, and Miriam J. Bartlett of Newport, RI, her grandchildren Megan and Torrey Bartlett of Boston, MA, Daniel S. Jones of Chicago, IL, and Allison Whitney of Wellesley, MA, and her sisters in-law Helen Jones Stevenson of Wyomissing, PA, and Lois Daum of Annapolis, MD. A Memorial Eucharist will take place at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 1956 Main Road, Tiverton, on Saturday, June 4, 2005, at 11:00 AM. The body will be cremated and the remains interred in the Columbarium at St. Andrew?s Episcopal Church in Ann Arbor following a second Memorial Service at a later date.
